September 2016
We started our day in Beverly Hills. Fancy. I drove us the back way – the 2 to the 134 to the 101 to Coldwater Canyon. Just 40 minutes on the road and we were out of stodgy San Gabriel Valley and dipping into the hip and glorious west side of Los Angeles.
We ate breakfast at The Farm of Beverly Hills. Alas, I can’t find a picture of our breakfast. We wandered around Rodeo Drive for awhile and seem to have had our happiest moment in Crate and Barrel. Look at our domestic joy in finding containers that keep our flour and brown sugar as fresh as possible.

We wandered into the Paley Center but only explored the (free) lobby.

Other hits of the day while wandering Beverly Hills were Tiffany and Sugarfina. I’m pretty sure as a result of popping into Tiffany & Co I ended up with a new charm for my bracelet (thanks Gaia for texting Caroline).
We left Beverly Hills and drove to Westwood. We planned three activities there: a visit to the Hammer Museum, then Escapedom in Westwood and then finally to the Geffen Playhouse. Sprinkled in with these activities were a light bite and wine for lunch and a lite bite and wine for dinner.
We perfectly timed our first glass of wine between a visit to a modern art museum and the challenging task of saving a mannequin from blowing up.
The wine made the experience much more fun but may have contributed to our failed mission. One of the participants assigned to our team had a tiny therapy dog with her that I blame for slowing us down more than the wine.
After failing our Escape Room mission we definitely needed another drink. Then we shared some lite bites and we carried on to the Geffen Playhouse to see Barbeque. I thought this was such a funny and provocative play. I hope it is still being produced somewhere out there.
